TYLER, TX. - The Saint Francis football program started its season off in impressive fashion, crushing Texas College 46-10 on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars carried a 23-3 lead into the half and never looked back, scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter to set the final score.
USF was led by sophomore running back Antoine Campbell who carried 11 times for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Junior quarterback Josh Miller completed 10-of-22 passes for 99 yards, he also rushed for 38 yards. Wes Hunsucker and David Yoder - who were in contention for the starting spot - saw some action as well, combining to complete 5-of-7 passes for 89 yards.
The Cougars defense - impressive in last weeks scrimmage - controlled the afternoon, limiting Texas College to just 175 yards of total offense.
Saint Francis returns home next Saturday when they host Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 noon.
