Former Indiana men's basketball coach Mike Davis is on his way to Texas. Davis has accepted an interim head coaching position at Texas Southern just five months after being fired as the head coach at UAB.

Davis served as the head coach of the Hoosiers from 2000 to 2006 after serving as an assistant for three seasons. In 2002 he led IU to the national championship game, before ultimately losing to Maryland. He resigned in 2006.

He later served as the head coach at UAB for six seasons, finishing with a record of 122-72, including the 2011 Conference USA regular season championship.

Texas Southern plays in the SWAC.
