University of Saint Francis forward Scott Kohne has been named the first Crossroads League men’s basketball Player of the Week for 2012-13 after the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 22.5 points per game, 14 rebounds per game, and added 2.5 blocks to lead USF to 1-0 start in the League, 1-1 overall last week.

“All the extra work Scott did in the off season is paying major dividends for him and our team,” USF Head Coach Chad LaCross said. “He’s doing a lot of things well and wants to get better. He’s not a player who will rest on his accomplishments.”

Kohne (Fort Wayne, IN / Bishop Dwenger H.S.) is averaging a double double (scoring-rebounding) in seven games this season for the 5-2 Cougars and leads three categories in the CL – scoring (23.6), rebounding (12.1) and blocked shots per game (1.9). He has double doubles in four consecutive games and six of seven games so far this season. This is Scott’s first conference player of the week honor.

The Cougars resume CL play at No. 21 Spring Arbor University on Tues., Nov. 27, at 7 p.m.
