HUNTINGTON, IN. - MCC Player of the Year Caleb Kennedy may be gone - but Huntington men's basketball coach Ty Platt is optimistic about the 2012-13 season. He has good reason.

The Foresters may not be able to replace the production of Kennedy with one player - but they certainly have the resources to do it as a collective unit. After Kennedy, HU returns its next top eight scorers from a year ago, including all-conference selection Shane Merryman. With the 6-foot-5 Carroll grad bodying up inside, Platt says a roster of shooters will need to contribute from the outside and help spread the flood for their star.

Progress will be determined by improvement on a 9-9, 5th place conference finish last season. Platt is confident his team has the necessary weapons to do that.
