WBB: Warriors Halt Losing Streak

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women’s basketball team put a halt to its three-game losing streak with a 71-59 win over conference opponent Lawrence Tech University on Saturday in the Schaefer Center.
The Warriors improved to 2-7 and 2-2 in the WHAC while Lawrence Tech, who had won two straight games, fell to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Sophomore Onnie Jordan (Ft. Wayne, IN/Harding) scored five points as part of 10-0 run by the Warriors to start the game.

Lawrence Tech went on a run of their own to get within three, 14-11, at the 13:21 mark. But the Warriors would score 14 of the next 16 points to grab a 28-13 advantage, and eventually push their lead to 39-19 at halftime.
In the second half, the Warriors would lead by as many as 24 and cruised to their second conference victory.
Indiana Tech forced the visiting Blue Devils into 24 giveaways and turned those into 24 points.

Junior Ulyssia Richmond (Temple Hills, MD/Riverdale Baptist) paced the team with a game-high 15 points and five steals.  Kaneisha Bass (Detroit, MI/Lincoln Trail) and Chelsea Carradine (Redford, MI/Thurston) followed with 12 and 10 points respectively.  Junior Rachael Kruse (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) ripped down a team-high nine rebounds while senior Bryn Schlatter (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) grabbed seven boards.

Up next, the Lady Warriors will welcome the No. 17 Concordia University Cardinals to the Schaefer Center on Wednesday, Dec. 5 in WHAC action.  The game is slated for a 5:30 p.m. start.
