FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Ugly was a thing of beauty for ninth-ranked University of Saint Francis in a 63-60 win over Grace College in a game of survival from the Lady Cougars' perspective.
The Crossroads League win for USF improves its record to 18-2 overall, 7-1 in conference play and left the Lady Cougars in sole possession of second place after league-leading Indiana Wesleyan University rolled to a 60-42 win over Bethel College. IWU, 20-0 overall, 8-0 in CL play, invades Hutzell Athletic Center on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Kayla Drake led another balanced offensive for USF with 16 points. Skylarr Shurn added 14 points, Brooke Ridley 10 and Meghan Slusher and Jenelle Wilson scored nine points apiece for the Lady Cougars.
USF led 36-29 at halftime, but GC (13-7, 4-4 CL) outscored USF 31-27 in the final 20 minutes.
