FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) - Behind a 27-point, 17-rebound performance from senior Melvin Brooks, No. 25 Indiana Tech opened its season with a 94-79 win over Indiana Dabney on Saturday night. The 6-foot-5 forward led four Warriors in double figures and spearheaded a 12-rebound advantage on the glass for Tech.
The Warriors recovered from a sloppy start to run away with a 43-28 lead at the half and coasted to a win, netting 51 after the break. Tech shot 53 percent from the floor while connecting on 5-of-11 three-point field goal attempts.
Indiana Tech is back in action Tuesday night when they host Ohio Midwestern at 7 p.m.
