Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s basketball team took a 28-22 lead into halftime against Lawrence Tech on Saturday, but exploded for 41 points in the second half while limiting the Blue Devils to just 15, coming away with a 69-37 victory.

For the second straight game, the Warriors limited their opponent to less than 40 points as the suffocating defense held Lawrence Tech to 34 percent shooting on the afternoon.

It was the fourth consecutive win for Tech as they improve their record to 9-2 on the year and 3-1 in the conference.  Meanwhile, WHAC newcomer Lawrence Tech fell to 1-8 overall and 1-3 in league play.

The Warriors opened up a 13-4 lead to begin the game, but the Blue Devils kept the score within reach. The visitors narrowed the deficit to four with just over a minute left in the half, but a late basket by Jeff Hoskins (Kalamazoo, MI/Indiana Wesleyan) extended the Tech advantage to 28-22 at the break.

The Warriors broke the game wide open early in the second half going on a 16-2 run over the first 5:30, fueled by seven points from Antonio Landers (Monroe, LA/John Wood), to push the lead to 20 and would roll to the victory.

Indiana Tech shot 51 percent from the floor while holding the Blue Devils to 34 percent, including a 1-for-18 mark from behind the three-point line.  The Warriors also forced LTU into 16 turnovers and converted those into 24 points.

Hoskins and Antonio Cannon (Indianapolis, IN/Ancilla) led the way with 16 points apiece. Hoskins added five assists and Cannon pulled down six rebounds. Landers joined his teammates in double figures with 10 points.

The Warriors wrap up their homestand on Wednesday, Dec. 5 when they play host to Concordia University in WHAC action. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
