FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - This time of year Tony Jasick is still teaching the game of basketball but on a much smaller scale than usual.
This week Jasick is hosting camp at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center for about 100 kindergartners through eighth graders.
Jasick just finished his first year as the head coach of the IPFW basketball squad after six seasons as an assistant under Dane Fife. After a solid start Jasick's team struggled down the stretch and finished with an 11-19 record.
Jasick says the defensive intensity must improve this year. He'll also need to find more ball-handlers as last year's starting point guard, Jonny Marlin, transferred while Justin Jordan tore his ACL this summer and will likely not be able to play until December.
IPFW players report to campus next week for off-season workouts.
