Six Cougars Preseason All-Americans

FORT WAYNE - University of Saint Francis senior linebacker Brody Kalbaugh and senior return specialist/wide receiver Austin Coleman are two of six Cougars named to the 2012 Beyond College Sports Network Preseason All-American Team.

  Kalbaugh (Fishers, IN /Fishers H.S.) was a first-team selection as the MSFA leader in tackles among returnees from 2011 with 122 total, 50 solo, for a 10.2 average. He tied for No. 8 in tackles in NAIA in 2011.

  Coleman (Fort Wayne, IN / Harding H.S.) led NAIA in kickoff returns in 2011 with an average of 40.9 yards per return and four touchdowns – a USF and Mid-States Football Association single-season record. His five career KO return TDs is a USF record and an MSFA record. He also caught six TD passes and led USF with a 21.3 yards-per-reception average.

  The following Cougars were also chosen:

Kollin Carman (Columbus, IN / Columbus North H.S.)          second team   punter

Anthony Moore (Fort Wayne, IN / Bishop Luers H.S.            third team        defensive line

Rex Drabenstot (Huntington, IN / Huntington North H.S.)     HM                  defensive line

Erick Humphrey (Indianapolis / Warren Central H.S.)           HM                  defensive back

   USF, which finished 9-3 in 2011, opens its 15 th season on Sat., Aug. 25, at Texas College, under head coach Kevin Donley, who is 254-116-1 in 33 seasons as a head collegiate coach.
