FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) - No. 6 Saint Francis came up short in its bid to earn win number 257 for head coach Kevin Donley, falling to No. 20 Saint Ambrose 15-14 on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars outgained the Bees 383 to 301 in total yardage but couldn't capitalize on a couple of late scoring opportunities - allowing Saint Ambrose to score the go-ahead points with less than two minutes to play.

USF opened the scoring on a 9-yard touchdown run from Antoin Campbell - but a failed extra point attempt left the score at 6-0. Saint Ambrose responded with a scoring drive of their own, capped by a two-yard run from Cole Kelly. Those would be the last points scored by either team until the fourth quarter.

Having already used Josh Miller and David Yoder at quarterback with marginal success, Donley turned to third-string signal caller Wes Hunsucker who immediately connected with Austin Coleman for a 70-yard touchdown pass. The Cougars made it a 14-7 game on a two-point conversion moments later from Antoin Campbell. Campbell topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the third straight week.

Saint Ambrose quickly regained momentum however. Quarterback Eric Williamson drove the Bees down the field on a pair of long passing plays, before connecting with Zach Grant on a 15-yard touchdown pass. Moments later, the Bees converted on a two-point conversion to take a 15-14 lead.

On the Cougars final drive, Hunsucker was intercepted to set Saint Francis' fate. The Cougars now go into a bye week.
