Luers Grad Barnett Suspended By IU

BLOOMINGTON, IN. - Bishop Luers grad and Indiana cornerback Lawrence Barnett will serve a one-game suspension for a violation of team rules. The school announced the suspension in a release on Thursday.

Wide receiver Kofi Hughes and safety Forisse Hardin will also serve one-game suspensions as well. In addition to those punishments handed down, wide receiver Jay McCants was dismissed for violation of team rules. IU also announced Thursday that receiver Logan Young and safety Shaquille Jefferson have left the program.

The Hoosiers officially opened their fall camp on Thursday as well.

Barnett is coming off a redshirt sophomore season in which he transition from safety to cornerback. He appeared in 11 games, making nine starts, while recording 46 tackles, forcing and recovering one fumble each.
