NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - Manchester University Director of Athletics Rick Espeset and head women’s basketball coach Josh Dzurick announced Tuesday, July 3, that Heidi Messer has joined the women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. Messer, who earned her master’s degree at Georgetown (Ky.) College this May, spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant for the Tigers. She helped lead the program to a Fab Four National Association of Intercollegiate Athetics’ appearance last year and coached two All-American and four all-conference players in two seasons. Prior to that stint, Messer served as an assistant at Grace College in Warsaw, her alma mater, in 2008-09. As a player at Grace, she was a team captain in 2007-08 and ranked eighth in career assists. “We’re very excited to have an individual with such a strong background joining our staff,” Dzurick said. “Heidi will help us to continue to build the tradition of Manchester University women’s basketball.”
