WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue head coach Sharon Versyp announced the 2012-13 nonconference schedule on Friday, a slate that features home games against USC Upstate, Green Bay, Bowling Green, Georgia Tech (ACC/Big Ten Challenge), Central Michigan and IUPUI. The Boilermakers will travel to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, over the Thanksgiving holiday to take on Marist, Wake Forest and Connecticut in the Paradise Jam at the University of the Virgin Islands on Nov. 22 to 24, 2012.

The first opportunity to check out the 2012-13 version of the Purdue women’s basketball team will be Nov. 4 when the Boilermakers take on Lindsey Wilson College in the only exhibition game of the season. Purdue remains home for the next two contests: against University of South Carolina Upstate on Nov. 10 and University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Nov. 13. It will be the first meeting between the Boilermakers and each team. Green Bay will be led this season by former Michigan head coach Kevin Borseth. It is Borseth’s second stint at the school, having guided the Phoenix from 1998 to 2007.

The Boilermakers will take on Bowling Green at home Nov. 19 before heading to the Paradise Jam in the USVI. Upon return to the U.S., Purdue will play host to Georgia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 28. Rounding out the home nonconference slate is Central Michigan on Dec. 2 and IUPUI on Dec. 21.

Purdue has five nonconference true road games on the slate starting with SIUE on Nov. 17. The Boilermakers have three-consecutive away contests in December: at IPFW on Dec. 6, at UT Martin on Dec. 9, at Oakland on Dec. 16 and the final nonconference game of the year will be at Notre Dame on Dec. 29.

The Boilermakers will welcome back four starters while five newcomers enter the mix. Returning from the 2012 Big Ten Tournament championship roster are starting point guard KK Houser, wing Courtney Moses and forward Sam Ostarello. Drey Mingo, who missed last season with an ACL injury, started for Purdue as a redshirt junior and will once again be in uniform after being granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. Also back for Purdue are senior guard Chantel Poston, junior Dee Dee Williams, sophomores Liza Clemons and Torrie Thornton. Redshirt sophomore Camille Redmon, a 6-foot-4 forward transfer from Kansas State and Grayson County College will be eligible this season and join the highly touted freshman class of Hayden Hamby, Taylor Manuel, Joslyn Massey and April Wilson. Whitney Bays, a transfer from Maryland will be able to practice with the team, but unable to compete until 2013-14.

The Big Ten opener is scheduled for Jan. 3, with the conference tilt expected to be released in late August. Stay tuned to purduesports.com for the complete schedule, including times and the broadcast schedule.
