New Haven high school grad and Purdue senior Matt Bischoff is getting a chance to play professional baseball as the pitcher was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 20th round of the MLB draft on Tuesday.
Bischoff was taken with the 612th overall pick.
Bischoff went 10-2 as a senior as was named all-conference for the fourth straight season - the only Purdue baseball player ever to accomplish that feat.
It's the second time Bischoff has been drafted - he was picked in the 47th round by the Mets in 2008.
