FORT WAYNE, Ind. - USF Junior QB Josh Miller and junior Outside Linebacker Devon Rush have been named MSFA Mideast League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week after USF’s 25-13 upset win at No. 1 Saint Xavier University on Saturday night.
Miller completed 79 percent of his passes hitting 11-of-14 without an interception for 137 yards, rushed 13 times for 60 yards, and scored a TD and threw for a TD helping USF take a 19-0 lead in the first half and snap SXU’s 25-game winning streak at home. Miller was injured (ankle) in the third quarter and did not return to the field.
Rush had a 39-yard interception return, USF’s longest INT return this season, led USF with 7 solo tackles and finished with 11, had one tackle-for-loss of one yard and had one pass broken up.
