FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Saint Francis women's basketball team moved to 6-0 after beating Huntington while the USF men are now 5-1 after downing the Foresters as Crossroad League play opened Tuesday night.
The USF women led by 11 at the half and won up winning 64-56. Skylarr Shurn netted 19 points while Kayla Drake added 17. HU was led by Sara Miller-Jennings with 17. Allison Greene added 11 and Lauren Meese chipped in 10. Taylor Foley pulled down 11 boards to pace the Foresters, who fall to 5-2 on the season.
In men's action Bishop Dwenger graduate Scott Kohne dropped in 29 points to go with 12 rebounds as USF topped Huntington 68-66. It was Kohne's fifth double-double in six games this season. Ethan Hussey tallied 13 points for USF as well.
Carroll grad Shane Merryman paced HU with 18 points, while Alec Peterson and Colin Featherston scored 10 apiece.
USF trailed 30-15 at one point in the first half.
