FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - For only the third time in seven seasons, Saint Francis is coming off of a regular season loss as they prepare for Olivet Nazarene University this Saturday.

The Cougars lost to NCAA Div. II Missouri S & T 39-37 on a late field goal to drop to 6-1 this season.  A lack of execution on offense, poor field conditions and the inability to stop the Miners' passing game led to the rare loss for Saint Francis.  The Tigers (2-6) visit Bishop D'Arcy Stadium this weekend for a noon kickoff.

These two teams have only met once before in Saint Francis' inaugural season of football back in 1998.  The Tigers won 28-24 en route to the National Championship that year.  Once again, the Cougars put their home winning streak on the line that currently stands at 55 games.

USF running back Daniel Carter's on the verge of yet another Cougar record.  Carter became the school's leader in all-purpose yards two weeks ago against Trinity International, now the senior running back needs just 62 yards to pass Michael Ledo to become the all-time leading rusher in Cougars history.  Ledo rushed for 3,905 yards while at Saint Francis.

The Cougars dropped to #8 in the NAIA rankings but remain undefeated in MSFA play at 3-0 as they prepare to host MSFA Mideast opponent Olivet.
