FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - It's the longest continuous basketball series in the city of Fort Wayne and for the 93rd time in history, Saint Francis and Indiana Tech met on the men's basketball court Saturday. The host Cougars pulled out the win 84-70, but the Warriors still lead the overall series 59-34.
Both teams got off to a slow start as USF led 34-24 at the half. Both teams stepped up their games in the second half, but the Cougars lead was just too much for the Warriors to overcome.
DeJovaun Sawyer-Davis led Saint Francis with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Brad Sneary added 12 points, 10 rebounds while Qadr Owens chipped in 13 points and seven assists.
Shaun Cabrera led Tech with 21 points and Anthony Johnson had 12.
USF is now 2-2 this season while Indiana Tech drops to 1-3.
