FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Purdue basketball coach Matt Painter was at Northrop high school on Thursday watching recruit Bryson Scott during an open gym session at Mark Schoeff Gymnasium.
Scott, a senior, verbally committed to Purdue before his sophomore season. He will sign with the Boilers in November.
Purdue has had success with Northrop players in the past, as Walter Jordan starred for the Boilers in the 1970s with Tony Jones doing the same in the 80s.
Painter and all other D-1 basketball coaches are currently allowed to visit open gyms.
Painter could visit Carroll later in this recruiting period to evaluate Chargers sophomore Chandler White. He was at the Northrop-Carroll game last year watching both Scott and White.
Notre Dame assistant coach Anthony Soloman was at New Haven last week to see Irish recruit V.J. Beachem.
