ANGOLA, Ind. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine defensive end Louis Danesi and placekicker Tyler Keck its Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week in football for games played through September 29.
Danesi, a junior from Santa Fe, Texas (Santa Fe HS), earned Player of the Week honors for the second week in a row with seven tackles, including three sacks for 40 yards in losses, in Trine’s 30-20 victory over Kalamazoo. He is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time in his career.
Keck, a junior from Elkhart, Indiana (Elkhart Memorial HS), kicked field goals of 27, 30 and 40 yards, and added three extra points in the Thunder’s MIAA-opening win over Kalamazoo. He also averaged 51.4 yards on kickoffs, including one touchback. He is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
