MBB: Johnson's 19 Pace Purdue In Win

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Terone Johnson scored 19 points, including three 3-pointers, to help Purdue beat UNC Wilmington 66-40 on Wednesday night.
   DJ Byrd and Travis Carroll each scored 10 points for the Boilermakers, who snapped a two-game skid.
   Keith Rendleman had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Seahawks (1-3), who have lost three straight.
   Terone Johnson, who scored 10 points in the first half, hit a 3-pointer at the end of the half to give Purdue a 29-28 lead at halftime.
   The Boilermakers (2-3), who held the Seahawks to just 12 points in the second half, went on an 18-3 run in the second half.
   Byrd scored two free throws after a flagrant foul was called on the Seahawks' Tyree Graham. Terone Johnson hit a trey and Anthony Johnson was fouled on a shot and hit the extra free throw to make it 36-30.
   Carroll scored on a put-back and Byrd scored two free throws before Ronnie Johnson scored on a shot next to the basket to make it 42-30.
   But before the Boilermakers began their run, the Seahawks regained the lead. After Jacob Lawson was called for a flagrant foul, Tanner Milson scored two free throws to give the Seahawks a 30-29 lead at 19:07 remaining. They would not lead again.
   It was a rough first half for the Boilermakers, who just couldn't pull away from the Seahawks.
   The Boilermakers jumped out to an early 15-4. Terone Johnson and Byrd each hit 3-pointers and Anthony Johnson scored two shots. Purdue forced the Seahawks to four turnovers in the first five minutes.
   Byrd scored three free throws and Carol hit a jumper to make it 15-4.
   But Rendleman, who leads the Seahawks with 15 points per game, sparked a 12-4 Seahawk run cut Purdue's lead to 17-13. But the Seahawks weren't done.
   Ponder hit a shot and Milson a 3-pointer to make it 19-18 with 8:45 left in the first half.
   Then Purdue went on a run.
   Terone Johnson scored two free throws and a basket to extend the lead to 23-18, and Sandi Marius split at the line.
   Then the Seahawks made another run at the Boilermakers.
   Rendleman hit a 3-pointer and the Seahawks' Luke Hager dunked on a break-away before Milson hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 26, with 2:05 left in the first.
   UNCW's Cedrick Williams scored to give the Seahawks a 28-26 lead with 10 seconds left in the first half, their first lead since scoring a free throw at the start of the game.
