» Purdue will play its first-ever College Basketball Invitational game on Wednesday when it hosts Western Illinois at 7 p.m. ET.
» A win on Wednesday would tie head coach Matt Painter with Ray Eddy for third place on Purdue's coaching wins chart (176), and would advance the CBI quarterfinals, where they would host the winner of the first-round matchup between Santa Clara and Vermont.
» Purdue is coming off of a 57-55 loss to Nebraska in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament; senior D.J. Byrd led the Boilermakers with 15 points and eight rebounds against the Cornhuskers.
» Purdue found out on March 11 that Terone Johnson and D.J. Byrd garnered All-Big Ten honors, while A.J. Hammons claimed a spot on the All-Freshman Team; Rapheal Davis was named B1G Freshman of the Week the same day for his work against Michigan and Minnesota on March 6 and 9, respectively.
» The Boilers head into the week as the No. 2 rebounding team in the Big Ten (all games), grabbing an average of 39.3 per game; their rebounding average is the highest in the Painter Era, as is their +5.3 rebounding margin.
» Freshman A.J. Hammons needs 11 to break the Purdue freshman record held by Joe Barry Carroll, who pulled down 206 boards in 1976-77; he is the leading freshman rebounder and shot blocker in the Big Ten this season.
» Hammons is the only active freshman in the power six conferences averaging at least 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks per game; Kentucky's Nerlens Noel also fit those criteria prior to suffering a season-ending knee injury.
» The Boilermakers have blocked 148 shots this season, which ranks third on Purdue's single-season chart; the Boilers' average of 4.6 per game ranks third in the Big Ten.

» Ronnie Johnson was stellar with the ball in his hands in Big Ten play, ranking second in the league in assists per game (4.6) and fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8) in B1G games; his 129 assists on the season are the second-most by a freshman in Purdue history.
