HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) - Hosting the Indiana Institute of Technology on opening night for both teams, the Foresters remained posed against the scrappy Warrior team to earn the 79-55 victory.
The lead went back and forth through the first 15 minutes of play as both teams worked out their opening game jitters. At the 5:44 mark, Kellen Zawadzki drained a long three to spark a 16-4 run for the Foresters to close out the half and take a 35-21 lead at the break.
Despite Tech's full court pressure in the second half, a composed Forester team continued to build on their first half lead with their biggest margin coming at 72-41 with 5:49 left in the contest. For the evening, the Foresters shot 50 percent from the field (31-62) while committing only 10 turnovers. They out rebounded Tech 44-32.
