FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis women's soccer team got a lot bigger today, with the Lady Cougars officially announcing the signings of 11 players. According to coach Christy Young, the incoming recruiting class is among the largest in the program's history.

Five of the incoming players are from area schools.  Goalkeeper Abbie Christian joins the team from Bishop Luers, where she wrapped up her senior season with 215 saves and was named a team captain. Defender Michelle Hochstetler joins the team from Westview, where she helped lead the Warriors to a 2009 NECC title.  Defender Ashlynn Jenkins joins the team from Leo, where she was a three-year ACAC First Team All-Conference player.  Also joining the team from Leo is forward Alyssa Makridakis, who was named the Lions' Most Valuable Offensive Player and team captain.  Defender Cori Nunley joins the team from Snider, where she was a two-year Top Team Player.
