IPFW's Saurin Named Coach Of The Year

ELMHURST, Ill. - IPFW head women's soccer coach Margaret Saurin has been named the Summit League Coach of the Year as seven different players have earned All-League honors, highlighted by a First Team All-League selection by senior Tylar Allison.

Allison was named to the First Team, while seniors Danielle Bishop, Arianne Mason, and Rhea Proctor were named to the Second Team. Rachel Good, Erin Gill, and Sam Pavlika were each named to the All-Newcomer Team.

The Mastodons led the way with seven players selected to the three teams.

Allison, senior defender from Columbus, Ohio, leads the team with four assists, while starting 16 games this season. Her assist total this season is tied for the third-highest single-season total in school history.

Bishop, a senior forward from Danville, Indiana, has a team-high six goals, with four of those being game-winners this season, while adding an assist for 13 total points. The six goals this season are tied for the seventh-most in a single-season in school history, while her game-winning goal total is tied for the single-season record.

Mason, a senior from Toronto, Ontario, has four goals and an assist this year, for nine points, second-highest total on the team. She has scored 10 career goals, which rank eighth in school history.

Proctor, a senior midfielder from Brownsburg, Indiana, has scored one goal and dished out one assist this season for the Mastodons, while her 20 career points and seven career goals ranks 11th in school history, and her six assists ranks eighth.

Good, a freshman forward from Walled Lake, Michigan, has played in all 16 matches this season, and has scored two goals while dishing out two assists.

Gill, a freshman midfielder from Beavercreek, Ohio, is tied for third on the team with three goals scored this season, while adding an assist for seven total points, fourth-highest on the team.

Pavlika, a freshman goalkeeper, has been in goal for every minute of IPFW's season this year, and has a 1.03 goals against average with 69 saves and four shutouts. The minutes total is the third-highest single-season total in school history, while the goals against average is the lowest, and the four shutouts tie the single-season record.

The Mastodons open play in the 2012 Summit League Tournament at 7 p.m. on Friday evening in Brookings, S.D.
