ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI’s Bethany Fogler and Fort Wayne’s Tessa McGill were named The Summit League's Offensive and Defensive Volleyball Players of the Week, for their performances Oct. 22-28.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Fogler earns her first career Offensive Player of the Week honor, after nearly going error-free at the net last week. The senior middle hitter was perfect at the net in a non-league tilt against Valparaiso tallying 13 kills with no errors in 27 attempts. She then hit a .562 clip with 10 kills in a sweep of Omaha. For the week, Fogler recorded 23 kills and just one error in 43 attempts for a .512 hitting percentage, 11 blocks (1.38 per set), one dig and 29 points (3.6 per set). This award marks her fourth career weekly honor as she had received Defensive Player of the Week three times in her career.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

McGill captures her eighth career Defensive Player of the Week honor and third of the season after averaging two digs over the NCAA statistical leader last week. The senior defensive specialist tallied 39 digs in a five-set win over North Dakota State and then bettered that the next match collecting a season-high 45 against South Dakota State. Her 45 digs vs. SDSU, ranks third all-time in league history for digs in a match and a five-set match. On the week, McGill recorded 84 digs, averaging 8.40 per set, six service aces, three assists and one kill. She currently holds a league-best average of 6.25 digs per set and ranks third all-time in league history with 2,194 career digs. With this honor, McGill ranks second all-time in league history for career defensive awards.
