IPFW Opens Practice For 2012-13 Season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The 2012-13 IPFW men's basketball team opened its season on Friday afternoon in a 5 p.m. practice at the Gates Sports Center.

The squad returns seven letterwinners from last season's squad, which includes Frank Gaines , who finished ninth in the country last season averaging 21.2 points per game. 

Also back for the squad is senior forward Mario Hines who averaged 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds last year, junior forward Michael Kibiloski (5.2 points, 2.2 rebounds), and sophomores Isaiah McCray (2.5 points, 2.3 rebounds), and Joe Edwards (4.2 points, 1.7 rebounds).

The team also has eight new players, including junior college transfers Pierre Bland (Florida State College at Jacksonville), Steve Forbes (Brevard), Kevin Harden (Santa Fe College), and Luis Jacobo (College of Central Florida), a redshirt freshman in Herbert Graham , and three true freshmen in Brent Calhoun (Indianapolis, Ind.), Will Dunn (Edina, Minn.), and Joe Reed (Greenwood, Ind.).
