INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Former Indiana University basketball starter Devan Dumes has been charged with shooting at an Indianapolis home while his brother and 1-year-old nephew were inside.
WRTV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/XFN0vd ) the 26-year-old Dumes appeared in Marion County court Friday on charges of criminal recklessness and carrying a handgun without a license. It wasn't clear whether Dumes had an attorney.
Indianapolis police arrested Dumes last week following an incident Jan. 9 in which he allegedly fired a handgun at a house after arguing with his brother, who was inside with his son visiting the child's mother.
A police affidavit claims Dumes became angry when he was told to leave and began shooting, forcing the woman who was outside to dive for cover.
Dumes' trial is set for March 27.
