FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Coming off a less-than-stellar performance last season (Marquette over Ohio State in the NCAA title game?) Caroline Marini is a year old and a year wiser. That's why her picks in 2013 are a sure bet - or, at least, one of nine quintillion outcomes you could come up with when filling out a bracket. This time, she put together a masterpiece that could hang in the Louvre or on your refrigerator.
Caroline picked her first round games by deciding between crayons in her pack of 64. Upsets included Southern over no. 1 seed Gonzaga, Pacific over Miami, and Iona over Ohio State (she obviously is holding a grudge from last year when the Buckeyes let her down).
In the second round through the Final Four Caroline decided between markers and picked Iona, Michigan, Oregon, and Montana to make it all the way to Atlanta.
In the title game - choosing between green and blue paint - Caroline picked the Wolverines over the Ducks, no doubt sending fans in Ann Arbor into a frenzy.
In the end, the work of art she made along the way may be messy, but it probably won't be any messier than most brackets after this year's Big Dance.
