WARSAW, Ind. - Warsaw Community High School standout senior Lindsay Baker has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Toledo University next season.
Baker, a 5’-11” standout with a deadly long-range jumper, plans to major in exercise science at Toledo. Through her first six semesters at WCHS, Baker has established herself on both the court and in the classroom, earning an 11.85 cumulative GPA on a 12-point scale, while ranking 38th out of 511 WCHS seniors.
Last year as a junior, Baker averaged 14.4 points per game, 6.6 rebounds, and 4/5 assists with 2.6 steals. She also shot an outstanding 84% from the foul line and was 45.3% shooting from 3-point range.
Baker was named to the Indiana Junior All-Star team, earned All Northern Lakes Conference first team, and was Area Player of the year. She was also an Indiana Basketball Coaches Association All-State selection, All Northeast Indiana Second Team, and was a Hoosier Basketball Magazine All-State pick.
A 3-year starter for coach Michelle Harter’s Tigers, Baker earned a varsity letter as a freshman. Last year the Tigers finished an impressive 16-5, and were NLC champions the previous season with Baker being one the primary go-to players.
Baker has been involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletics, the Octagon Club, National Honor Society, the YMCA, and The Boys and Girls Club. Baker plans to major in Exercise Science and will play under head coach Tricia Cullop for the Rockets. Toledo is a member of the Mid-American Conference.
