Leo scored two goals in the first six minutes of action against Canterbury then held on for a 2-0 win at Hancock Field on Monday night.
Leo improves to 4-0-2 on the season. Canterbury came in ranked no. 6 in the latest 1A state poll.
Leo's first goal came just one minute into the match. Nikki Butler's shot from 30 yards out was initially saved by Canterbury keeper Emma Hyndman. However, in a stroke of bad lucks, Hyndman punched the ball out only to have it ricochet of the face of a Canterbury defender and into the back of the net for a Leo goal.
Just five minutes later Katie Pannabecker found Hannah Field with a nice cross and Field did the rest, putting Leo up 2-0.
