GOLF: Warsaw Sixth At State, BD Tenth

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WANE) - Warsaw finished tied for sixth while Bishop Dwenger came in tenth as the boys state golf tournament wrapped up Tuesday at The Legends course in Franklin.

Warsaw shot +49 (625) as a team while the Saints shot +63 (639). Evansville Harrison won the team title with a +35 (611) while Brebeuf came in second at +38 (614).

Sean Stone of Evansville Harrison won individual medalist honors by shooting -4 (140) to win by three strokes.

Locally, Warsaw's Jon Schram was the highest finisher as he wound up tied for 8th at +3. Last year's state champ Tyler Ostrom of Warsaw ended up tied for 14th at +8. Bellmont sophomore Chase Ellsworth tied for 22nd at +11 while Dwenger's Spencer Gillig tied for 24th at +12.

East Noble's Michael Sharp was just one shot off the lead after round one but shot a +15 in the second round to end up +13 for the tournament and tie fo r28th.
