FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) - The Carroll Chargers continued to dominate the race towards a cross country state crown on Saturday, taking first in both the boys and girls meets at their semi-state region.
The Charger boys placed four runners in the top ten and all seven in the top 35, finishing with 40 points - well ahead of second place Homestead who checked in with 110. Bishop Dwenger, Northridge and Goshen rounded out the top five. The individual winner in the boys meet was Canterbury junior Zach Panning who finished in 15:37.35.
In the girls race, Carroll's entire team of seven finished in the top 30, with three racers placing in the top 12. The Chargers score of 62 was 55 better than second place Northridge. Concordia, Penn and Homestead all finished in the top five as well. Mishawaka sophomore sensation Anna Rohrer won the individual title. Her time of 17:03.96 was well over a minute better than the rest of the field.
