FORT WAYNE, IN. - The high school football season is still nearly two months away - but Homestead is already rounding into shape. The Spartans claimed a 7-on-7 championship on their home field Saturday afternoon, defeating Valparaiso 28-14. The event is sponsored by the the Colts and the National Guard. Homestead now advances to play Heritage Christian Tuesday night with a berth in the national tournament on the line.

The Spartans started slow, losing their first two games of the morning, before getting hot and winning five straight games in the bracket portion of the day. Homestead was led by senior wideout Isaac Griffith who recently committed to play football at Indiana.
