GBB: Cavs, Cadets Win Big

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) - Defending 1A state champion and preseason No. 1 Canterbury began its title defense in impressive fashion, hammering Wayne on the road 86-53. It was a big night for the Cavs for more than one reason - beginning with a new, but familiar face on the bench. Wayne Kreiger, earned the victory in his first game since taking over for his son Scott prior to the start of the season.

Then, there's Canterbury standout Kindell Fincher. The Xavier commit eclipses the 1,000-point plateau for her career in the win.

Earlier in the day, 3A preseason No. 1 Concordia also earned a road win, dispatching of New Haven 45-25. The Cadets went on a 30-4 run in the first half and were able to ease up in the closing two quarters on their way to the convincing win.
