GBB: 8 Gym Rats Sign LOI's

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) - Eight current members of the girls Gym Rats AAU team signed national letters of intent on Thursday night including the trio of Rachel Rinehart, Haley Richardson and Lindsay Baker.

Rinehart - a 5-foot-8 guard from Angola - signed with IPFW. As a junior she was an Honorable Mention All-State selection after averaging over 14 points and six assists and six steals per game.

Richardson will take her game south to Muncie where she'll lace up for Ball State. A 6-foot-3 forward out of West Noble High School, Richardson was a force in the middle as a junior, averaging 12 points and nine rebounds, along with nearly three blocks per game.

Baker will head to the MAC as well, signing with Toledo. The Warsaw forward stuffed the stat sheet as a junior, averaging 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game while shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc.

In addition to the three above, Bailey Farley, Meredith Shipman, Keanna Gary, Ariana Simmons and De'Joya Johnson all signed to play in college as well. NewsChannel 15 Sports spoke with all earlier in the week, click on our high school sports page for more.
