FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The prep football season gets underway Friday night at there's no better way to start it than Bishop Luers battling Snider at Spuller Stadium.

Luers is coming off its third-straight 2A state title. The Knights are looking to become only the second time in state history to win four consecutive state championships.

Snider is coming off a trip to 5A semi-state.

The quarterback position will be at a premier for Luers, as the Knights graduated the SAC's all-time leading passer in James Knapke. Knapke is now a freshman at Bowling Green. Junior Quinn Cook will likely get the first chance to replace him, but freshman Noah Wesensky and senior Kyle Bliss have both played well in camp.

Snider returns their starting quarterback in Brandon Phelps, but must replace record-setting running back John Nelson (now at Saint Francis) among others.
