WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE) - DeKalb heads into 2012 with a 21-game losing streak, but things are looking up for the Barons.
The coaching situation is more settled this fall as Mike Cochran enters his second season leading the program. Quarterback Evan Cochran garnered some experience at the quarterback position last fall and Austin Hassinger returns at running back after posting 325 yards in 2011.
Coach Cochran touts the work ethic of his senior class so far this fall along with the returning talent at the skill positions.
DeKalb actually beat Norwell 14-0 last season in week seven but had to forfeit the game due to eligibility concerns regarding a player.
The Barons open the 2012 season next Friday at Mishawaka Marian.
