JASPER, Ind. (WANE) - For the first time in Indiana history the state's Mr. Baseball is from Fort Wayne.
At Friday's banquet in Jasper leading up to this weekend's North-South all-star games it was announced that South Side's Will Coursen-Carr is Indiana's Mr. Baseball for 2012.
Coursen-Carr, who has signed to play college ball at Indiana, was spectacular on the mound and at the plate. The lefty went 10-1 with 134 strikeouts and a 0.40 ERA. At the plate Coursen-Carr hit .488 with four home runs and 38 RBI.
Coursen-Carr's success helped the Archers achieve new heights. South South went 20-8 and won the program's first-ever sectional title.
