Bishop Dwenger seniors pick schools

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Click on the VIDEO tab to your left to hear from both Bishop Dwenger seniors.

Bishop Dwenger high school third baseman and catcher Mike Mugg and distance runner Nick Brand signed letters of intent today to continue their athletic careers in college.

Mugg has spent two years on the varsity baseball team and is the current co-captain. Last year, he was named 1st team All-SAC, and this year leads the team with a .521 batting average, 27 RBI’s, and seven home runs. He will be continuing his baseball career as a preferred walk-on with IPFW in Fort Wayne, IN.

A member of the 2009 Fort Wayne-South Bend All-Diocesan cross country team, Brand ran two years for Bishop Dwenger’s varsity cross country team, and was captain of the 2009 SAC, sectional, and regional championship teams, and state qualifying team. He has also spent three years as a member of the varsity track team, and is the current captain. Nick will continue to run both track and cross country for the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN.
