FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Following in the footsteps of Fort Wayne standouts Anthony Spencer and Bernard Pollard Bishop Luers senior Tyvel Jemison is heading to West Lafayette to play football for the Boilermakers.

Jemison announced his decision to verbally commit to Purdue on Monday.

A standout defensive back, Jemison is the second recruit to verbally commit to Purdue since new head coach Darrell Hazell was hired last week.

Jemison had five interceptions and 81 tackles as a senior. He helped Bishop Luers win four consecutive 2A state championships during his high school career.
