FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - South Side's Hall of Fame room was buzzing Wednesday as basketball standouts Ariana Simmons and De'Joyah Johnson signed to play college basketball.
Simmons signed with IPFW. A 5-11 wing player, Simmons put up 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks last year as a junior. She was also recruited by Western Michigan among others.
Johnson is a 5-8 guard who will play at Division II Urbana. As a junior she put up 10.1 points a game, 2.5 steals, and 1.8 assists.
South Side is 2-0 this season and ranked no. 4 in the latest 4A state poll.
