Warsaw's Brooks wins state

Tigers' senior claims 113 lb. title

INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) - Ranked as the #1 wrestler at 113 lbs. in the country, Warsaw's Jarred Brooks lived up to that impressive ranking winning the individual state championship by defeating Schuyler Phillips of Yorktown 18-6.  Brooks finished the season  39-0.

One other wrestler competed for a state championship Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.  South Adams' Todd Batt fell to Jared McKinley of Perry Meridian 9-2 to take home second place.  Batt finished the season 48-4.

Garrett's Hayden Lee took third at 106 lbs.  Sawyer Miller of South Adams was fourth at 106 lbs.  Jared Wilson of Snider was seventh at 132 lbs.  Brooks Faurote of Bellmont took fourth at 145 lbs.  Phillip Gerber of Bluffton was eighth at 145 lbs.  Anthony Linnear of North Side was third at 170 lbs.  Brad Busse of Bellmont was seventh at 182 lbs.  Ben Baker of Bellmont was fourth at 195 lbs.
