FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Taylor Seiss netted 31 points for Leo but it wasn't enough as Carroll topped the Lions 69-68 in the season opener for both teams on Monday night.
Carroll is in the program's first season under coach Mark Redding. Redding previously coached at Wayne. Before that he led Elmhurst to a 3A state title before the school closed.
Madison Peterson had 22 to lead Carroll while Amy Poyter chipped in with 16.
Keanna Gary - who will sign with the University of Akron on Wednesday - had 14 points for Leo.
Leo came in ranked no. 12 in the state's latest 3A poll.
