FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Canterbury won the program's third sectional title in a row Thursday at Homestead as the Cavaliers beat Bishop Luers 5-0 in the championship match.
Canterbury's Clay Hoffacker, Davis Huber, and Tom Filus all won in straight sets. Williams Wright and Chris Yahanda won at no. 1 doubles 6-0, 6-0, while Patrick Downs and Chad Schouweiler took no. 2 doubles 6-0, 6-1.
In sectional semifinal action at DeKalb the host Barons fell to Angola 3-2 while Fremont swept Prairie Heights 5-0. Fremont and Angola will play tomorrow for the sectional title.
At Carroll the host Chargers beat Leo 5-0 while Northrop took down Blackhawk 4-1. Carroll and Northrop will play in the sectional title match tomorrow at 4 p.m.
At Concordia the host Cadets were swept by Bishop Dwenger while New Haven took down North Side 4-1. Dwenger and New Haven will meet at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday to determine the sectional champion.
