It appears that Notre Dame has won the V.J. Beachem sweepstakes.

NewsChannel 15 talked to the New Haven junior Sunday and confirmed he has verbally committed to the Fighting Irish.

Beachem chose Notre Dame over Purdue, Butler, Minnesota and Iowa.

After two stellar seasons at Harding, Beachem will wear the purple and gold at New Haven when basketball officially begins in November.

Scout.com has Beachem listed as the #15 small forward in the country. Rivals.com has him listed as #13 at small forward, 72nd out of 150 for the class of 2013.
