FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Monday, April 5, 2010 is the final day to register to vote or make changes to existing voter registration records for the May 4, 2010 primary in Indiana.
The Allen County Voter Registration office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. in room 132 of the City County Building, 1 E. Main Street in Fort Wayne. All mail-in registrations must be postmarked no later than April 5, 2010 to be processed for the May Primary Election.
Effective in 2003, all new registrations received by mail must include documentation verifying voter name and address. If these documents do not accompany the registration, the voter will be asked to present them at their polling location prior to voting.
Effective in 2004, all registrations must comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) and include questions, "Are you a citizen of the United States of America?" and "Will you be 18 years of age on or before Election Day?" Forms lacking these completed questions cannot be processed.
