FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne Police have arrested a man for spray painting racial slurs on the side of a house and garage.
On June 2, officers were called to the home in the 3500 Block of Oliver Street. The woman who rented the house, Lashonda Davis, woke up that morning and found the graffiti.
The letters KKK, swastikas, and racial slurs had been spray painted several times. The damage was estimated at $2,500.
Davis had been living there for about four months. She told NewsChannel 15 she had no idea who would've vandalized the property.
Someone came forward with information that led police to the next door neighbor. They arrested Kevin Sizemore, 37, on a charge of criminal mischief.
Despite the nature of the graffiti, investigators don't believe the incident was racially motivated. Authorities have revealed there was a dispute between Sizemore and the landlord of the vandalized rental property.
