Critically injured motorcyclists are from Arkansas

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  A motorcyclist and his passenger were critically hurt Wednesday night when he lost of control of the bike on the ramp from southbound I-69 to eastbound I-469.

Police, firefighters, and medics got to the scene just before 7:00 p.m. and found Glenn R. Howerton, 60, of Eureka Springs, Ark. and Joy D. Howerton, 56, also of Eureka Springs, in critical condition. They were transported to a local hospital.

The Howertons remained in critical condition on Thursday morning.

It's not known why the driver lost control of the motorcycle. Both riders were wearing helmets.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (F.A.C.T.).
